Huda is an experienced urban planning and sustainability professional and is a thought-leader and international speaker on the topic of sustainable development in cities. Her multidisciplinary academic background and consulting and public sector experience, combining urban planning, environmental science, public health, sustainability and city resilience, help her to bring a unique perspective to projects.
Huda started her career as an environmental scientist with Dubai Holding, advising on environmental and sustainability strategies. She then joined the global built environment consultancy Arup where she spent 12 years working on projects throughout the GCC focused on identifying, communicating and implementing ambitious sustainability visions and strategies. She later moved to the public sector working as an advisor on urban planning for the city of Makkah and the city of Abu Dhabi.
Huda holds Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Public Health from the American University of Beirut, a Masters of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine, and a Masters of Science in International Planning from the Bartlett, University College London. She is a Chartered Town Planner, a Chartered Environmentalist and a member of the International Society for City and Regional Planners (ISoCaRP). Huda has also qualified under multiple sustainability and green building certifications.
